Maia Amato

WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville Lions Club has selected Maia Amato as the Student of the Month for October. She is the Daughter of Chris Amato of Wellsville and Nikki Hague of East Liverpool. She is currently ranked 1st in the WHS Class of 2019 with a GPA of 4.0.


Her academic awards include the following: National Honor Society, A-Honor Roll, and 3.75 Honors. She received Awards of Excellence in the following courses: Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra I & II, Spanish I & II and Government.


She was a 3-year varsity Cheerleader, 2018 Fall Homecoming Queen, a member of College Credit Plus, where she has taken college classes at Kent State East Liverpool for four years.


Among her high school clubs and activities, she was Junior Class President, and member of Student Counsel and Leo Club. She is the Vice President of Spirit club, a “Paws” (Positively Affecting Wellsville Students) Mentor for 8th grade students entering the High School.


She has volunteered her time with the Sacred Heart Church, participated in trunk-or-treat, and helped raise money for her Cheerleading squad doing tag days and car washes.


She plans to attend KSU to finish her undergraduate degree and plans to attend Northeast Ohio Medical University to become a Pharmacist.
